עוֹלָם
olam
Everyday HebrewFormsעוֹלָמוֹת
Meaning1. The planet Earth, with all of its countries and people.
2. All of space and everything in it, like stars and other planets.
HistoryThis word is very old and appears in the Bible. It comes from a root that means "to be hidden" or "to be concealed". The idea was that the distant past and the far future are hidden from us, so "olam" came to mean a very long time, and later, the whole world that exists through time.
There are so many beautiful places in the world.
